Wordpress Blog Setup
OK, so you want a blog, but don’t want to hassle with the set up and all the techno mumbo-jumbo.
or…You want a website, but don’t want to have to learn difficult html coding language so you can do it yourself, or have to pay huge fees to fancy web designers every time you want to make a change.
or…You want to be able to make quick changes and additions (without paying those exorbitant fees) because you’ve heard how important that is for search engine ranking.
or…You want to, once and for all, have control and ownership of your own website, and not be dependent on someone else.
If any of these statement are true for you, then a self-hosted Wordpress blog is your solution.
Here are 4 critical reasons why:
- It’s easy to use – if you can use Word and basic email programs, you can use Wordpress. Seriously.
- It’s easy to learn – there are literally thousandsĀ of free tutorials on the internet, if not tens of thousands – both video and written.
- You own all of it! It’s not another company’s blog service you are dependent on or restricted by. It’s YOURS.
- Search engine advantages! Blogging is now known to be the quickest way to increase your search engine ranking…and to be a success in business these days, you need your website to be in front of as many eyes as possible. Being high up in the ranking puts you there.
This is YOUR business.
YOU need to be in control of the decisions.
But, the learning curve for setting up and installing everything you need for your self-hosted Wordpress blog is quite steep.
(The learning curve for using it has a nice gentle slope, but getting everything in place at the beginning is the hard part.)
So, if you do not have the desire or time to:
- learn how to install and configure new technology,
- research which themes work best for what,
- figure out what a widget is,
- research which plugins work with which themes,
- plus figure out what you need and what you don’t need
then you could benefit from one of the basic blog setup packages.
Believe me, you don’t need to fall behind.
I understand wanting to “save money” and learning to do it yourself. That’sĀ exactly what I did.
Though, I have to be honest, I didn’t save any money. When I calculated my time, I realized it had actually cost me several thousand dollars to learn how to do it.
I’ve also seen far too many people have costly delays in their business because they had too much on their plate already, or, in some cases, were a little bit afraid of how hard they thought it would be, and so they kept finding “reasons” to put it off.
You may or may not be like other people who keep putting it off and falling farther behind.
But, you must want to start blogging, or have an easy-to-use website…otherwise you wouldn’t have ended up on this page, right?
At the risk of sounding a teensy bit too salesy…ask yourself,
what would it be worth to you to already have this done?
Or, put another way, what is it costing you to keep putting it off?
(OK, so that question was mighty salesy. But, if you think about it, it is a good question.)
You are the only one who can answer those questions.
And it depends on you, your business, and the reasons you want a website or blog.
So think about the questions in terms of the cost (or loss) of publicity; the cost (or loss) of falling behind others who are already blogging away (and getting customers and clients because of it); the cost (or loss) of losing money; the cost (or loss) regarding how you feel about yourself, knowing you want to get your site up, but just never getting around to it.
If you want help, I’ll help.
If you want to try it yourself, that’s great. Just know I’m here if you find you don’t get it done.
If you’re ready for less worry, less hassle, and more blogging, take a look at your options.
If, on the other hand, you’re going to try it yourself, put a note in your calendar for 5 days from today.
If you don’t have your site up AND RUNNING by then, come back here and let’s get it done together.
It really doesn’t have to take that long.
